Landing Pages and Microsites
Sometimes all you need is a website, and sometimes you need to do more.
Landing pages and microsites are effective ways to build your brand and accelerate your marketing efforts.
Microsites
What is a microsite?
A microsite is a branded content site that lives outside of your company homepage and/or brand URL.
I’d provide an example, but you’re sort of on one right now. Oh, that’s awkward.
Typically, microsites have a theme or are built around a specific campaign with a clear call to action.
If you haven’t guessed already, this microsite is all about web design.
Landing Pages
What is a landing page?
Landing pages are simply standalone web pages created for marketing or advertising purposes.
Much like microsites, landing pages are designed to exist outside of the experience of navigating your primary brand website or company website.
While landing pages are independent from your company website, they’re typically still built on the same URL. The only difference is that landing pages are intended for specific audiences your company website alone may not be well-suited to capture.
Getting straight to the point.
The familiar navigation menus and links that are considered helpful on a home page might be considered distractions on a landing page. The content of a landing page is incredibly focused. It’s all about optimizing for conversions.
What Can They Do for You?
Both microsites and landing pages help brands achieve similar goals.
- Increase organic traffic
- Improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Improve conversion rate by delivering content based on a specific search query or advertising campaign
